Awards for Poston Mill Park
22/04/2008 Update by: JJ

Poston Mill Caravan and Holiday Park showered with awards

Poston Mill Park has become the very first caravan and holiday park to achieve the highly prestigious Gold level Servicemark award.

Servicemark Gold is only awarded for the very highest standards of customer care and leadership in good service.  Innovation, attention to detail and a constant striving for the very best are all things that drew praise from the Recognition Panel.  One thing they especially singled out was the dog shower that owners Wayne and Sarah Jones incorporated into the new toilet block they built last year.

“It was Wayne’s brainwave,” says Sarah.  “We have so many dog owners on site that it seemed a great idea to add in a dog’s shower when we put in the human ones.  You’d be amazed how popular it is with our visitors – but if you’ve ever caravanned with a dog in wet weather, I think you’ll understand how fantastic it is to be able to give them a proper wash and blow dry!”

For the Recognition Panel, this epitomises the friendly and helpful approach at Poston Mill.

Wayne and Sarah are not sitting back on their laurels, however.  Last year the Park won the David Bellamy Gold environmental award for the 5th year running earning a commitment in the community award, and took Gold at the regional ‘England For Excellence’ tourism awards for Caravan Holiday Park of the year in Birmingham.  As a result they have now been put forward for the national England for Excellence tourism awards, to be held in Liverpool on 23rd April.  We wish them all the best.

Have you heard the cuckoo yet?

We haven't, but I'm sure he'll be shouting any day soon.

The blossom is out and many of the cider orchards are just waiting for a little more warmth before they too will be in full splendour.

Have you booked for the June walking festival, if not or if the walks you wanted are full why not contact one of our members for accommodation and walking in the Golden Valley and Black Mountains, we have a varied selection for visitors to choose from and we have good suggestions for places to eat and visit encompassed within these walks.

If you haven't booked for Hay Festival yet you'd best do it now as most places are already booked up. But don't be disappointed if you can't get in for festival week, most of us are open all year round and so are the bookshops, antique, clothes and craft shops.

Treat yourself to a short break.
