Upper Gilvach is a family run farm, 15 miles west of the cathedral city of Hereford. We pride ourselves on the standard of service offered at this unique retreat in deepest Herefordshire. Fresh country air, breathtaking views and scrumptious farmhouse cuisine are offered in this farmhouse dating from the 17th century with exposed beams, open fireplaces and an old bread oven.
It has been lovingly restored, tastefully decorated and finished in keeping with its character. The large garden with sun lounge and patio area provide a quiet atmosphere in which one can relax.

We offer peace and comfort in a relaxing friendly atmosphere. Delicious evening meals and hearty breakfasts using local wines and produce.

Three spacious attractively furnished bedrooms all en suite, colour TV and hospitality trays and Sky TV in the lounge.

This Herefordshire/Welsh border countryside between the Golden Valley and the Black Mountains, as beautiful as anywhere in the land, and where old traditions survive, is an ideal centre for the Offa's Dyke hiker, the pony trekker, the motorist, the fisherman, the historian and the antiquarian. The pace of life is easy, people always find time for a chat.
This is England at its best. St. Margarets has its lovely church and its treasured superb pre-Reformation rood screen and loft exquisitely carved, described as "one of the Wonders of Herefordshire". The city of Hereford straddles the River Wye and the glory of the city is the pink sandstone cathedral, along with the Medieval chained library and the Mappa Mundi, drawn on Vellum and showing the world as it was known in 1290.
Alan and Ruth Watkins offer refreshment and relaxation all year round and look forward to welcoming you at Upper Gilvach Farm.
